Orange Ginger Celery Juice
I confess, I have a love/hate relationship with juicing. For the longest time I was completely anti juicing since the process of juicing extracts the fiber from the fruit or vegetable. Fiber is essential for blood sugar control and gut health. Some juices also can contain concentrated amounts of anti-nutrients such as phytates, oxalates, and goitrogens from veggies such as spinach and kale. These anti-nutrients can prevent the absorption of certain minerals which can lead to mineral imbalances in our body. While kale and spinach are incredibly nutritious foods, they can absolutely pose a problem if consumed in the raw every day.
BUT when done right, using fruits and veggies that are low in anti-nutrients, juicing can be an incredibly healthful part of your diet. And that is because by drinking fresh pressed juice, your body can absorb nutrients quickly. And juicing also allows you to get a broader intake of certain vitamins and minerals that can be supportive of liver detoxification and immune and adrenal function.
So, one of my new favorite combinations to juice is this Orange Ginger Celery Juice. It is so refreshing and so easy to make! If you don’t own a juicer, this juice can easily be made using a high speed blender following the directions listed below. Enjoy!
