Oven Baked Rotisserie Chicken
Oven Baked Rotisserie Chicken
Did you know that most store bought Rotisserie chickens, including the Costco Rotisseries are loaded with antibiotics, hormones, refined seed oils, and other toxic ingredients? That’s why I opt to bake mine at home. This recipe is healthy, delicious, and so easy to make!
Prep Time 10 minutes mins
Cook Time 1 hour hr 30 minutes mins
Ingredients
- 1 Heirloom Pasture Raised Chicken
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp paprika
- 2 tsp thyme
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp sea salt
- pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F
- Truss your chicken (this step is optional). Then place the chicken in a roasting pan or stoneware baking dish
- Rub the olive oil all over the chicken
- Rub or sprinkle the spice mixture all over the chicken (make sure to get the top and bottom)
- Bake uncovered until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees, about 70 to 80 minutes. Baste the chicken periodically (every 15-20 minutes, see note 3) with accumulated juices or olive oil. Remove from oven and let rest 10 minutes before carving. (To keep the skin from becoming too dark you can cover with aluminum foil for the first 30 minutes of baking)
- Serve with mashed potatoes & roasted veggies
